New Holland is an 8-hectare island in the heart of St Petersburg. Conceived by Peter the Great for the Russian Navy, it became Russia’s first military port and was inaccessible to the public for 300 years. Construction work is expected to begin soon on the delayed skyscraper for the Russian energy giant, Gazprom Energy, which appointed South Korean conglomerate Samsung to build Lakhta Center earlier this month. Lakhta Center is planned to include the first super-tall skyscraper in St. Petersburg, a scientific and educational complex, sports and leisure facilities, and an outdoor amphitheater. The 86-story, 463-meter.main tower of Lakhta Center, upon its planned completion in 2018,.is expected to be the tallest building in Russia and Europe... Beautiful Facet: GRANDEUR
